David Oro

David Oro was appointed as an alternate City member to LAFCO in 2025 to complete an unexpired term.
First appointed to the American Canyon City Council in 2017 and elected in 2018 and 2022, David Oro has been a steadfast advocate for smart growth, meaningful community engagement, and enhancing the quality of life for American Canyon and Napa County residents.
David’s commitment to the community spans decades and reflects his deep-rooted dedication to service. He was a founding member of the American Canyon Open Space Advisory Committee (2005), chaired the SR 29 Gateway Corridor Plan Citizens Advisory Committee (2012), served on the Broadway Specific Plan Steering Committee (2015), campaigned to improve local schools (2016), and graduated from both the Napa County Sheriff’s and City’s Citizens Academies. Additionally, he is a founding member of the American Canyon Community and Parks Foundation and has coached youth soccer, baseball, and basketball.
In his professional life, David is the principal and founder of the Oro Group, a boutique communications consultancy that advises start-ups and multinational companies in the high-tech industry. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration.
