Providing Comments: Meetings generally last 60 to 90 minutes depending on the agenda. All members of the general public are encouraged to attend and participate. There are two basic means to provide comments to the Commission at meetings. First, comments may be provided at the start of a meeting during the "public comment period" for any item relevant to agency's mission and mandates so long as it is not scheduled anywhere on the agenda. Audience members may also request discussion of an item listed for consent during the public comment period. Second, comments may be provided on any item listed for public hearing as they are considered. Comments on other agendized items under the action or discussion calendar may also be provided upon request and approval by the Chair. Comments should generally be limited to three to five minutes with time extensions granted solely at the discretion of the Chair.
Commissioner Compensation: Napa LAFCO Commissioners receive a stipend of $150 per regular meeting of the Commission. Alternate members receive an equal stipend when seated as voting members.
